Excitement is reaching its peak in Courchevel as the resort prepares to host a legendary stage of the Tour de France 2023. Nestled in the heart of the majestic Alpine mountains, Courchevel is ready to thrill cycling enthusiasts from around the world. This iconic event promises to be an epic day, showcasing the spectacular landscapes and unique sporting challenges of the region.
During the 17th stage of the Tour de France, the contenders for the yellow jersey will face off between Saint-Gervais and Courchevel. In the final part of this stage, cyclists will traverse Courchevel, passing through Vignotan, La Perrière, Le Carrey, Saint-Bon, Courchevel Le Praz, and Courchevel La Tania, before tackling the formidable and iconic slopes of the Col de la Loze, the highest point of the Tour de France 2023 with its 28.4 km climb at 6% gradient.
But the race won't stop there, as once they reach the 2,304 meters of the col, cyclists will embark on a vertiginous descent of 6.4 km, as technical as it is dangerous, to reach Courchevel 1850. A few more pedal strokes will be required to conquer the Altiport track, with its 18% incline, before finally crossing the finish line. A spectacular and unique arrival, matching the elevation of the stage!
